As more and more airlines get flight back TV’s so the safety videos are now recorded and played on the TV’s. In an attempt to keep the audience interested, the in flight safety videos are becoming somewhat of an art form.

So we present to you the countdown of our top 5 favourite in flight safety videos.

5. Delta Airlines – A retake on the classic

This video takes the traditional approach and remixes it for a new audience. The wagging finger for no smoking and the bright bright smiles are all part of this video to keep you entertained and informed. The biggest part of this video is the main hostess, dubbed ‘Deltalina’ for her resemblance to Angelina Jolie. ‘Deltalina’ now seems to have her own fan base online with appearances on Fox news and the Ellen show.

4. Air New Zealand – The Bare Essentials.

How to get audience [and global] attention? Film a safety video naked. That’s right naked! With the help of some uniform style body paint and strategically placed luggage, the team from Air New Zealand manage to deliver an informative and cheeky safety video. (there’s also an outtakes video here.) Air New Zealand

3. Virgin Atlantic – Old School Cool.

Possibly the first ‘cool’ in flight video – this one has been around for a few years but still remains watchable.  The animation, music and overall feel make this an entertaining and still informative watch. Virgin Atlantic Airways

2. Thomson Airways – Kids.

This is a charming new safety video from Thomson Fly features kids as the passengers and the crew!

1. Virgin America – Sketch Pad.

This is a classic video. The animation is different and amusing, the voice over is straight and informative. Additional comments like, ‘for the point 0001% of you who have never operated a seat belt, it works like this…”
