About Edinburgh Airport

Edinburgh Airport is Scotland’s busiest airport, carrying over eight million passengers each year. Located around eight miles west of the city, it’s the base for around 40 airlines which fly to over 100 destinations. Future expansion plans hope to increase routes and passenger numbers to 26 million by 2030. There is easy access to the airport via M8 and M9 motorways, with a range of short- and long-term parking options, including a fastTRACK area with dedicated lanes and bays.

If you’re travelling by public transport, there is no airport train station, but it is linked to the city’s Waverley and Haymarket railway stations by the Airlink 100 express bus. Other bus services include the Edinburgh Shuttle to the city centre and a service linking the airport to the Ocean Terminal shopping terminal.

If you’re arriving early or late, an airport hotel can help you avoid a journey in the dark. The Hilton Edinburgh Airport is closest to the airport, accessible by foot or a free shuttle, and other nearby hotels include the Quality Hotel Airport and Norton House Hotel. Check the deals available as airport hotels often offer free transfers, and some have parking deals which may work out cheaper than paying for separate parking.
