Getting to/from
Reaching Stansted by road
The airport is conveniently located, being adjacent to junction 8 of the M11 and only some 20 minutes’ drive from the M25 (junction 27), making it a very easy trip for Londoners. The terminal postcode for sat-nav users is CM24 IRW.
Dropping off/picking up passengers
Drivers can drop off passengers on the terminal forecourt but, for security reasons, no waiting is allowed. If you plan to help with luggage or go into the terminal for any reason, you will need to park in the Short Stay Car Park. When picking up passengers you must also use the Short Stay Car Park. Unattended vehicles are likely to be towed away.
Petrol stations
There is a petrol station open 24/7 at Southgate, 1.5 miles (2km) from the terminal. For sat-nav users the postcode is CM24 1AA (Tel. 01279 692 25).
By taxi
Checker Cars (Tel. 01279 661 111 or visit www.checkercars.com) have a rank outside the terminal, serving London and other destinations.
By coach/shuttle
The coach station is in front of the terminal forecourt. National Express (Tel. 0871 781 8181, website: www.national express.com) is the principal operator and it runs regular services to and from London Victoria Station, London Liverpool Street, Stratford and other destinations. Other major operators include Easybus (website: www.easybus.co.uk), which provides a service to London Baker Street, and Terravision Express Shuttle (Tel. 01279 680 028, website: www.terravision.eu), which offers a non-stop service to London Victoria. By train
You’ll find the airport station underneath the terminal building. The Stansted Express (Tel. 0845 850 0150, website: www.stanstedexpress.co.uk) runs to and from London Liverpool Street Station. For destinations in London’s West End, change at Tottenham Hale. Central Trains (Tel. 0121 634 2040, website www.centraltrains.co.uk) operates trains to Birmingham via Cambridge and Leicester.
